Let XR open doors to international health tech markets

From immersive training experiences for medical professionals to enhancing health communication and patient education, XR impacts global healthcare. We are getting ready to explore, how VR can boost the benefits of other health tech inventions for the benefits of patients and medical staff.

XR Technology

Sometimes you are simply too busy to take advantage of new technology that can save you hours. As contradictory as it might sound, this seems to be one of the reasons why new health take inventios never reach their market potential.

Doctors, nurses, and other medical staff are busy taking care of patients’ needs. Asking them to learn how to use yet another piece of equipment puts extra weight on their shoulders, and unless they are absolutely certain to gain value from the new equipment, they have no interest in spending time away from the patients.

“We believe, we can overcome some of these struggles with VR and AR. Instead of struggling with the manual or watching long videos, XR technology is a powerful mean to both show the benefits of the equipment and train how to use it,” says Michael Harboe, CEO of Virsabi.

Coping and training

Together with Danish Life Science Cluster, Virsabi is defining use cases for how to utilize XR technology to scale Danish health tech inventios to global markets. Breaking down the barriers of usage in health clinics is the first milestone, and combining the knowledge from health communication with experience from usage of XR in training and onboarding is the way forward.

“If you can convince the medical staff to use a few minutes in an immersive VR experience where they experience the problem from the patients’ perspective and then learn to use the equipment in a fun and engaging way, I am sure we will open up a new world of opportunities for these health tech companies,” Harboe says.
